Long -Thompson gets a job with the Federal Credit Administration

Long Thompson gets a job

The 2008 Democratic candidate for Indiana governor has been picked by President Obama to join that board that oversees the Federal Farm Credit Administration. Jill Long-Thompson has a lengthy history in Washington - first as a congresswoman between 1989 and 1995 and then as an official in the U.S. Agriculture Department during the Clinton adminstration. Long-Thompson was defeated by current Northeast Indiana Republican Congressman Mark Souder in the 1994 election and tried to make a political comeback when she ran for the open second district congressional seat in 2002 but lost to Chris Chocola. Her nomination to the federal farm board has to be approved by the U.S. Senate.
