Redistricting in Indiana. Why should you care?

I know- redistricting is a snore. Who wants to follow a bunch of silly lines drawing out a map for future elections. Well, those boring lines make up an important part of Indiana's political makeup. Anyone that has ever seen a Indiana House or Senate district has to wonder the logic to the wild puzzle. It's simple-politics. Why does B. Patrick Bauer win every election for the last 40 years? Is he that charismatic? Is he a champion of the people? Hardly,instead he understands the simple process of drawing a line in the right place.
Every district has been manipulated to "stack the deck" thus making sure the one in power stays in power. The Indiana Secretary of State has made a proposal concerning those lines, so here are a few quotes from the Indy Star news.

It's refreshing to see Todd Rokita come up with a plan to change the status quo. Not sure if it will go anywhere, but one can hope.
